March 3, 2007 around lunchtime

Yup people you read right.  I lasted 9 days.

Feed Me!

February 26, 2007 around lunchtime

Today is the 8th day of lent.  I have to be honest, I don’t know how much longer I can last.
I know it’s not difficult for a lot of you but keep in mind I don’t eat vegetables either plus the food I am required not to eat for lent.

During the past 8 days, I have eaten falafel, fries, fish, non-sauteed pasta, rice, and zaatar.

People! I want beef!  I want Johnny Rockets burger with cheese n fries, and a chocolate milkshake.

I want to go to Caesar’s and have their sweet n sour chicken, crap shoup, fish fried rice, and  butter nan.

I want to have my KDD chocolate milk every morning.

mmmmmm I want to go to Entrecote.

I think I can last another week, but don’t know how much more after that.

Modern Day Sainthood

February 25, 2007 in the wee hours

I was having this discussion with a friend today. You know all the pictures of Saints? Usually the women would be wearing nun’s clothing, holding the rosary, or the bible, or a flower or something similar. Can you imagine a modern day Saint’s image?

Bluetooth earpiece, laptop bag on shoulder, ipod strapped on arm. Instead of sun ray on her, you would have a chicago backdrop.. flashing lightbulbs with her name or something…. oh and her name would be her online name… St. Rampurple ;)

Food

February 19, 2007 in the early evening

It’s 7:33pm while I am writing this post.

Still at the office.

Hungry.

Ordered Zaatar from the capitalist version of a firn, Zaatar W Zeit.

I think I will be spending the next 49 days on Zaatar, potatoes, tuna, and crackers.

Lent

in the early afternoon

Today is the first day of lent.  I didn’t know until 8pm last night! How did Lent come by so quick.  I did not fast last year and I had decided to fast this year.  I quickly prepared myself mentally that I have 4 hours until fasting begins.

I woke up this morning starving!! I had a 10 am meeting with people drinking coffee around me and the smell of it was mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm.  I left that meeting to a second meeting which was at Le Notre.  I got there at 11:30, half an hour before breaking fast.  Everything around and in the restaurant smelt good… I ordered an espresso a bit before noon and had my first sip precisely at noon.  I had sushi for lunch. I had the Issa from Maki.  After I was done eating, someone told me they have mayonnaise in their sauce.  Oh well, I didn’t know.

Let the countdown begin. 49 days left until Easter and until I have chocolate and burgers again.  Those are what I am craving for right now.  Let’s see how long I will last.  It is the first time I fast completely.
