Blood Diamond

March 26, 2007 at around evening time

I watched Blood Diamond yesterday, it is a very violent movie, but it does reflect the truth of whats going on in Africa.

I dont usually like Di Caprio but he seemed just perfect for the role, lots of action in the movie and war scenes. The ending was a bit dissapointing though, i mean Solomon could have carried him easily to the plane, and a love story is born within few hours between Di Caprio and ‘Maddy’ (Jennifer Cally), i mean just keep the story real, no need for cliche stuff !

But it is a good movie overall, good action and nice scenario, i would watch it again mostly for the war scenes.

i beg to differ….i think the movie was very good. now solomon perhaps could have carried archer, but the point was that he was going to be a dead man either way, and the underlying point was that he finally understood the humanitarian side and developed a conscience. i have to say that djimon honsou was robbed of the oscar. alan arkin is an old fart that is half way decent, but he did not deserve the oscar. what a scam. have you watched babel? if not, another reviting movie…highly recomment.

Why spoil the movie for people who have not watched it?
It’s one thing to give a review and an opinion but another to hint out how the movie will actually end!

Di Caprio is getting better and better, he’s a VERY good actor, the movie is very nice, very reflective of what’s going on in some African countries… I really like it. As for your version of the ending.. (SPOILER ALERT) maybe he was too far from the plane or whatever, aren’t we bored of happy endings.

And ya N la ma tza3ela la Rampurple, maybe you should put in the beginning of the post a Spoiler alert, heik the person who didn’t see the movie can stop reading.

    Well ,
Mr Buckeye gave all the details, i didnt say he was gonna die there heh .. As for happy endings, he should have thought of a sader ending, who knows maybe Leo never died :P

Barke fi part 2 .. who knows ;)

Yah, I agree. Leo goes a little crazy near the end. When he’s dying, he says something like, “I’m right where I want to be” — and my reaction went something like: errr…that can’t possibly be right. Wouldn’t you rather be a millionaire and dating Jennifer Connelly? Anyway, there has to be some middle ground between the totally selfish bastard he was for most of the movie, and the mushy sentimental guy he turned into whilst dying.

Also, I don’t like Jennifer Connelly. Her righteous journalist pose annoyed me. And the romance seemed forced. Go ahead, call me a cynic.

Actually you did hint it out N10452… by stating that he easily could have been carried to the plane, therefore, strongly hinting out that he did not make it.

I wonder if Nabih Berri consulted on this movie. He grew up in Sierra Leone and is comfortable with terrorists.

N10452, like i stated i comment #10, I have no intentions to watch the movie. It’s not because you spoilt it, but I don’t watch such movies. Again I repeat, that my comment was for the other readers who ARE interested in watching the movie so take it easy. A movie review does not include what happens in the movie. A movie review consists of the plot of the movie and your review on it.
