Is it legal to block roads ?
Aoun & the Opposition leaders insisted that it was legitimate to go down and demonstrate the way they did and block roads and burn tyres etc etc …
Well apparently, they didnt read the laws properly, if they ever read them.
You can read the rules here.

If its not legal, the Authorities are the one who handle it. Certainly not a bunch of militiathugs bloodthirsty for the war days and the Glory of Shar2eeyeh subserviant to their “protection”, Somalia needs some militia croonies, yalla..

w, i wont bother answering ur cheap reply concerning geagea ..
Just to remind you LF had 26 injured and 1 killed all from gun shots, so i wonder who was attacking ..
bodhi,
The authorities(army) had to clear the roads and didnt do their job properly, instead they raised the tensions by letting both teams regroup and clashes became inevitable.
No one has the right to block roads, and definilty not militia thugs from Hezbollah & its allies ..

N, you fail to understand the concept of LAW AND JURISDICTION. It’s not your JOB to attack who you consider as Law Breakers. You report them and thats it. Makes sense? maybe if LF removes Militia 101 from its curriculum and replaces it with civic law 101 this would be avoided.

bodhi i think it is hilarious you preach about law and jurisdiction. i have asked this question before and have gotten no logical answer. what did you expect people to do when they are being forced to stay home from work and kids not able to get to school, people could not get from point a to point b? the opposition wanted to be lawless and wants NO counterreaction. that is the most rediculous thing i have ever heard.
this is what the opposition wanted and had they not, they would not have gone this far.
being the playground bully does not make you the boss.

Bodhi,
You are absolutly right; upholoding and protecting the law ought to be sacrosanct.
1. Hizbollah, FPM and others should never have blocked roads and thus affecting the fundamental freedom of movement of the population. Worst case scenario: no access to hospital in an emergency.
2. Hizbollah, FPM and others should never have burnt tyres and consequently causing damage to public property; not to mention the health hazards of all those who had to breath in that filth.
Now should the LF have done what they have done. In a strict legal sense no they shouldn’t; but with the apparent inaction of the institutions that were meant to protect them people reacted. Personally I can hardly blame them for reacting in this manner to such blatant and degrading provocation. In game theory, it’s called tit-for-tat strategy (no kidding).
So yes, you are right the Law before everything else. I just wish that the opposition would stops fooling us with their supposed sainthood and martyrdom. They have as much blood, and corruption for that matter, on their hands as the people they blame.
Oh and good point on militia 101, but the only militia still operating in the land is Hizbollah…not the LF. So maybe they should replace it with constitutional law 101; just to get some pointers on how a democracy actually is meant to work and how not to start a war unilaterally.
