Being Healthy
I decided to get healthier.
During the past year I have gotten sick more times than I have my entire life!
A few weeks ago, I replaced KDD chocolate milk with fresh orange juice in the morning. This was extremely difficult for me to do since I have been drinking KDD chocolate milk ever since I was a toddler.
I also cut down drastically on Pepsi. I love Pepsi but now I only drink a can of Pepsi once or twice a week.
I have replaced junk food with healthier sandwiches for lunch. Casper & Gambini has the best selection of low-fat healthy sandwiches. I replaced mayo with light mayo. French fries with baked potato.
I have replaced caramel latte with drinks such as mojito or minted lemonade during the evenings.
I have also cut down my smoking. I don’t smoke much while I work but would smoke regularly at social functions.
Most importantly, I have fixed my sleeping habits. I always had the weird sleeping habits, sleeping at the wee hours of the morning and sleeping in during the mornings. I have given myself a 1am bedtime. I have been doing this for over 10 days now. I have gotten adjusted to it, to the extent that I get sleepy after midnight. The latest I have slept so far is 1:30am. My alarm starts to ring at 7am. So, I been waking up a lot more fresher and have been getting 6 to 7 hours of sleep every night.
As a result of this health watch, my skin has improved and I have started to take more care of it.
Bottom line is that I feel a lot better this way.

well done and good luck keeping it up. altering your long-term eating habits can be really really tough, but once you get into the routine of eating/drinking your new choices, it is much easier to remain healthier and feel healthier/more energetic.
HOWEVER…. after a bad bout of ‘flu a few months ago, I started to eat crap again, and i feel less healthy and have put on weight. Problem is…. I know I can revert to that old diet easily, and get back into great shape easily. But because it’s easy, I don’t do it because I feel it’s something I can do just any old time.
So what am I saying? Try and keep it up as long as possible, and always tell yourself that what your doing IS NOT easy, even if in actuality it is. It’s harder to do the easy things sometimes.

Excellent choice.
I eat healthy and I resort to OJ in the mornings too but I have a different problem.. I’m a chocoholic, I crave chocolate so much it’s not even funny.
I can’t find a way to get over chocolate, what to do ??
that’s the only problem I have. and thank God it’s not effecting my skin, it’s just that I don’t want to gain weight.

Good resolutions! I hope that you can fix the sleep situation so that you routinely get 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Nightine is when our bodies heal, skin, but also everything. Good for you trying to cut back on the smoking. If you can’t quit, you can at least cut back. My biggest difficulty is responding to stress by eating something that isn’t good for me or just eating when I am not hungry (just stressed). Good luck with your new healthy habits, lynne
