Well when i see Hezbolla not claiming one rocket launcher destroyed in the past 20 days and only 3 killed, i d rather believe the Israeli media and other medias who talk about losses on both sides.

I have a picture of a rocket launcher captured too.

What evidence do we have that this was a missile launcher, it looks to me like a truck that went a parked inside a building.

Given how many times Israel bombed convoyes, aid reliefe, fleeing civilians, and journalists, how is this any different?

Well, even if the video isn’t correct, there’s plenty of other evidence that Hezbollah is hiding amongst the civillian population. Jan Egeland - the UN coordinator who had harsh words for the Israelis as well - said exactly the same.

And I don’t know why this comes as a surprise to some of the commentators here. Insurgent groups by their very nature blend in among the general population.

Given that Hezbollah isn’t engaging (and in fact isn’t able to engage) the Israelis in open battle it stands to reason that this is exactly what it is doing here.

Even if Hizbollah hide in the civilian buildings Israeli army has choice to not kill innocent people.
It is called a war crime.

I noticed that all this Israelis don’t have any critical thinking.
Israelis you have an army that is armed by US taxpayer’s money. The Lebanon has an army which almost doesn’t exist. The Hizbollah is the only resisting power of the Lebanon against the irately aggressions.

In ancient time the Jewish were prohibited to enter any country simply because these people were considered as thefts and cheaters. Even though if that is true it does not make them criminals but killing the civilians makes Israel the criminal no excuses. I am having hard time to understand you point.

Why do soldiers wear uniforms? After all, a uniform is not much more than a big sign with the words “Shoot me” on it. Why does the Geneva Convention require that even irregular combatants wear a designating insignia if it does the very same thing? The reason is that such designation grants a form of “snctuary” to the civilian by making it easier to distinguish between the combatant and the civilian. It is for this same reason that combatants are instructed to locate their weapons and bases separate from civilian infrastructure.

By doing the opposite of all of these Hezbollah may hope to gain the “sanctuary” afforded to the civilian because of the inability to distinguish the combatant from the civilian. But in doing so they really do not gain the protection of the civilian since the combatant must be attacked anyway. Instead their actions effectively strip the civilians of “sanctuary”.

The rocket launchers that are moved into garages are still legitimate targets even if they are in civilian homes. Even the Geneva convention (4th Convention, Article 28) states that “The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.”

BTW, here are some additional strike footage that shows rocket launchers being used from amidst civilian buildings.

I think we all need to calm down and let Israel and Hizbulla finish what they started. After all they are both responsible and don’t endanger civilians and they are both civilized and targeting military targets only. Just allow them a chance to finish this. Its just a little bit of anger management exercise.

I agree with Rampurple and grieve for Southern Lebanon. But I grieve for the Hezbollah fighters too, for their mothers who thought it right to raise them “for Jihad”, and for the children who don’t know any better. They are all victims of a bloodthirsty ideology. They are just victims!

Their crazed ideology, which is NOT and should NEVER be that of our diverse, “democratic” Lebanon, has led to the destruction of everything we have built in the past 20 years.

May Israel continue its campaigns until every single Hezbollah supporter is incinerated–no matter who they may be.

And for those saying “Lebanon is more united than ever,” they are merely blinded by candle vigils and the international demonstrators of hezbollah sympathizers. Actually, you are wrong. That is exactly what it makes them - it is a war crime to place military targets amongst a civillian population - and they are responsible for the death that results.

Simple questions:

1) Is there any way for an Israeli pilot to know, when he fires a missile from thousands of feet in the air at a building Hezbollah has used to launch or store weapons, that there are civillians inside?

(answer: of course not)

2) Is there any way Hezbollah can not know, when they choose those buildings, that there are civillians inside?

(Answer: again, of course not)

3) What do you think the result would be if the rule was that a state could not fire at civillian buildings used to store military targets?

(Answer: any state that wanted to wage war would put all of their military installations in civillian areas, preventing them from being attacked. States would then be forced to choose between losing a war to a beligerent state or becoming war criminals themselves, killing civillians to attack military targets, having been given no other choice. And, because states have a primary responsibility to protect their own citizens, they would choose the latter. In other words, the rule you would like the Israelis to fight by may save Lebanese lives in the short term, but it would cost vastly more lives in the long term. And that, of course, is exactly why it is *not* the law)

3) The fact that Hezbollah can only win if they use civillians as human shields does not make it right. And if you are willing to excuse Hezbollah because “that’s all they can do” then you must also be willing to excuse the IDF because if Hezbollah will only fight from within civillians, then the IDF will have to kill civillians when they attack Hezbollah. That’s all the IDF can do. And that’s exactly why what Hezbollah does is a war crime.

So, please answer your own question: what do you expect the IDF to do, when Hezbollah attacks israel from civillian locations?

your post makes no sense. You admitted that hezbollah commits war crimes by fighting from within a civillian population. I asked you some questions, which you have ignored - I take it because you realize that you cannot both answer them honestly and keep the position you have staked out.

What Blair, or Bush, or Olmert, or the BBC, or the Jerusalem Post, or the Daily Star have to say on the issue makes no difference to me. I can think for myself - that’s why I’ve criticized Israel when it’s been wrong and defended them when they’ve been right.

And the simple, cold blooded, harsh truth is that they were right to attack that building in Qana, because it was used by Hezbollah.

Does that mean that the people inside deserved to die? Of course not!

But between Hezbollah and the IDF, who was in the better position to know that civillians were in that building? The Hezbollah fighters firing rockets from within 5 feet? Or the IDF pilot launching a missile from 5000 feet?

The answer to that question - Hezbollah - is so obvious that you cannot even bring yourself to deny it. Instead, you simply ignore it, as though it were irrelevent.

It isn’t irrelevent, Celia. It’s the essence of the issue.

You want justice for the victims of Qana? Any of you?

Then find the hezbollah murderers who -knowing about the children inside - painted the target on that building for the IDF. Make them stand trial. Because while an Israeli missile hit that building, Hezbollah killed the people inside.

Nice video, it really shows how the Hez operate. Now where is the video for the building in Qana (this one is dated july 26). Obviously the Israeli drones film Hez using homes as cover, the IDF should show the proof of the Qana home being used by Hez.
