DV Cams!
I have been wanting to buy a DV Cam for 4 years now. I originally wanted the Canon XL2 but that’s over $4000. The price has been in that range for over 3 years now.
Now I think it is time to get a camera so I can work on my project. I don’t want to pay 4k though. SO yesterday, I went to some local electronic stores next to my house. The best camera they all had was the Panasonic GS 400. It doesn’t look too good but for it seems to be the best in it’s price range, 400kd ($1250).
I have been checking out cams online today and saw the Canon GL2. It costs $2000 on amazon. I still need to go check it out in Kuwait. I am confused though. Extremely confused. Can somebody help me out?

that HDV (HD & DV) cam from sony makes me wet (this is supposed to be a good thing) :p
AND it’s almost as expensive as the XL2

you know? I was having this idea for a while … like what if a bunch of like minded creatives who work in video, audio, photography … got together to do some kind of …. I don’t know what you call it, like a little club, we all pitch in to buy all these fancy equipments and we can all use them … of course there gotta be a way to schedule when and who is taking what and when they will be done with it.
It might sound silly but I can dream, can’t I?

but sadly few people in kuwait are concerned with filming…!!!
try finding some underground filmmakers in kuwait…
they’d propably have a good advice….
for me I use digital cams of intel and other brands and hope for the best quality…..!!!

ram you either do it right or u dont do it at all. save up and get the xl2. maybe the gl2 if u r REALLY squeezed but dont settle for less.

just checked, you can get the original XL1 for less then 2000$ on ebay!
